About Horta Guinardo, Barcelona
Horta-Guinardo is located between the districts Gracia and Nou Barris. It also limits with Ensanche, Sant Andreu and Sant Marti. Horta-Guinardo is the third biggest district of Barcelona, after Sants-Montjuic and Sarria-Sant Gervasi.
The layout of this wide Barcelona area is quite distinctive as its ground is uneven and with many slopes. Horta-Guinardo also has very positive characteristics as less pollution, green areas nearby and a good microclimate, among others. The urban zone of the district started growing mainly during the 50’s and the result of this development was diverse - on one hand nice quality residential areas and on the other less organized low-quality residential areas.
Many huge important hospitals are located in Horta-Guinardo as Sant Pau Hospital and the Ciudad Sanitaria de Vall d'Hebron. There are also lovely green areas – De los Turons and Collserola Park -, the famous Horta Labyrinth and the Olympic Area.
Most of the Horta-Guinardo district can be reached using the Barcelona metro – lines 3, 4 and 5. There are also many buses and taxis that cost around 7€ to go to Barcelona centre.
