Region
San Telmo is an idyllic fishing village and the starting point for the excursions by boat to the island of the Dragonera. This village also has several restaurants with typical Majorcan cuisine, a lovely cove and a small sandy beach. There are also several places from where one can enjoy the beautiful sunsets. All these reasons, amongst others, make the village so very popular. San Telmo is also well known amongst hikers, as it is the setting off point to go to La Trapa, one of the most well-known excursions of the island of Mallorca.
Exterior
This apartment is part of a complex only a few metres away from the coastline and with a lovely direct access to the beach just in front of it. The residential complex is set in a very peaceful area but at the same time there are bars and restaurants within a few minutes walking distance.
Interior
This apartment can be reached via a large patio and covered terrace with plenty of space where, for example, a play area for children could be installed. The apartment is made up of a living/dining room with an American kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one of them en suite. The total constructed surface area amounts to about 116m2. From the living room and 2 of the bedrooms there is direct access to a partly covered terrace. There is also a gallery and handy storeroom.
Features Puerto Andratx and the town of Andratx
The town of Andratx are situated in the far south west corner of Mallorca in the municipality of Andratx which has over 7,000 inhabitants. With magnificent mountains either side of the port, Andratx has become one of the most sought after areas to live in Mallorca, attracting celebrities such as Claudia Schiffer. The town is located inland and is very picturesque with cobbled streets and you can still see the remains of the old wall which protected the inhabitants from attack from pirates. The Pantaleu and Pou Amunt districts form the oldest part of Andratx town. The higher part of town consists of twisting and constricted stepped roads whereas the lower part is based on a grid design.
The town hall is in Son Mas castle, built in the 19th century. A 15th century tower, the Sagrament Tower, is inside. Santa Maria d'Andratx church, after years of improvement, has the appearance of a 18th century temple.
The Port of Andratx was originally a small fishing village. Although there are still local fishermen the area is more popular now as a tourist resort, with a large marina.
Ses Bassetes beach, only 30m long, is between the prom and the pier. One of the main drawbacks is the lack of beaches in the immediate area but Camp de Mar is only 3km away and the beautiful town of San Telmo is not far away, opposite the island of Dragonera, with regular boat trips available.
